Got you here under false pretences really as there’s nowt that interesting to tell about me. I’m a proud mother of two amazing grown up boys (one running his own business – Lettus Grow – and the other just finished his PHD at Oxford and has embarked on a Post Doc). Wife of a Welshman…
Really not sure where my creativity comes from, as my skills that pay the bills over the years have definitely been more science and spreadsheets!
Graduated in Chemistry with Education from Bath Uni yonks ago, where I met my long suffering husband – the Welshman! Worked for the Government for 10 years as an Analytical Chemist and got an MPhil along the way. Then I took a break to spend time with the family. Stopped myself going totally stir crazy by working the checkout line in Waitrose on a Sunday and volunteering. I booked antenatal classes, organised nearly new sales and edited newsletters for the NCT. And then later on volunteered for Save the Children.
Four years or so on and I landed a lucrative role creating website content for a kids focussed website. It was at the height of the dot-com boom and inevitably after just over a year the bubble burst! I’m now working as Head of Marketing Planning & Operations for Global growing some of the biggest media brands in the country, and life’s good. How did I jump from being an Analytical Chemist to writing for a living, to working in marketing? Well it involved a bottle of red wine and de-frosting a freezer! It’s easier explained over a glass of vino, buy me one sometime and I’ll reveal all!
What do I do with my time when I’m not working? I love spending time with the family, crochet, knitting, sewing and making things in general. Photography and travelling are passions too! That doesn’t leave much time for anything else. What are my plans for the future, definitely more of the above, but not the working bit!
Want to buy me that glass of wine?! You can always get in touch here.
